After a few days of relaxation during my recent honeymoon (conveniently scheduled around Thanksgiving to avoid a mountain of emails when I return to the office next week) I couldn't help but jump on the internet to get a feel for what was going on in the world. Low and behold all the regular excuses were being made for Liverpool's exit from the Champions League, the soothsayers were saying "I told you so" as Dubai teeters on the brink of collapse (there goes my holiday home) and another story on our old friend SAP and their apparent lack of product innovation (is it me or is everybody having a pop at them these days?!)
According to Ray Wang, enterprise strategy partner at analyst house Altimeter, SAP invests a significant proportion of its income on research and development yet achieves poor return on its investment. You can read the article for yourselves in full here.
