My turn to chime in on the blog today and wish all of my team, colleagues and friends in Fargo a hearty CONGRATULATIONS as we celebrate the 10 year anniversary of the acquisition by Microsoft of Great Plains Software!
Although we’ve shortened the product name to “GP,” over the years, the term “Great Plains” still resonates with such a huge swath of the market even a decade later. It’s one of the most popular search terms for ERP in any search engine, it’s one of our top performing ERP products (adding more customers in one quarter than many of competitors add in an entire year), has a thriving and passionate partner and customer base, and continues to provide release after release of innovation to our customers around the world, with more on the way.
None of this would be possible without the tremendous dedication of the Fargo team in R&D, support, product management, marketing, our partner team, field teams—you name it, the list is long and distinguished!
We’ll formally celebrate the milestone next week in Atlanta, as over 10,000 of us “converge” on Atlanta for our annual North American user conference—not surprisingly, started by Great Plains, and still called “Convergence” today.
