The Indiana Department of Education serves 47 teacher preparation institutions, 294 public school districts, and many charter and non-public schools, issuing licenses and maintaining licensing information for more than 60,000 educators. The Department recently deployed a Licensing Verification and Implementation System built on Microsoft Dynamics CRM to reduce processing time and costs for new licenses, streamline operations, and make information more accessible to both internal and external users.
The web-based application has reduced the time required to issue a new license from four months to as few as three days, while self-service features have allowed the Department to reassign the staff who had been tasked with processing licensing paperwork.
