A Better Cloud Down Under: Dynamics CRM Online Running Service Out of Local Australia Datacenters

Our global expansion hits another milestone today with Dynamics CRM Online now running our service out of local Microsoft datacenters in the Australia East Region (New South Wales) and the Australia Southeast Region (Victoria).  With today’s opening, we make good on our commitment to provide the best service for our customers in Australia, New Zealand, and Oceania, giving them a complete Cloud for Business with investments and innovation spanning Office 365, Microsoft Azure and Microsoft Dynamics CRM Online.

In addition to better performance, businesses running their services out of local datacenters will get redundant high availability and disaster recovery within Australia.  Customers are already using Dynamics CRM Online to transform their business, reinvent their productivity and gain business efficiencies through better collaboration and connectivity. One of Australia’s newest banks, Beyond Bank, will use Office 365 and Dynamics CRM Online across its organization to help make their banking experiences more personalized for their customers.  Through Microsoft Social Engagement, new social capabilities integrated with CRM Online will let Beyond Bank assess the social sentiment of customers, identify customer service opportunities, address issues proactively and analyse the social buzz created by marketing campaigns.

Trust is a paramount issue for organizations looking to go to the cloud and providing our customers with the confidence that their data is secure is a top priority for Microsoft.  The local service helps customers address data residency considerations, which is particularly important in sectors such as healthcare, education, government and financial services. Customers can rest assured that their information and data is protected and backed-up in Australia.

They also want to be sure they are able to satisfy their compliance obligations – all while having trusted foundations in private clouds, hybrid clouds and public clouds.  Both Microsoft Azure and Microsoft Office 365 already provide this level of assurance having been assessed for Industry Security Registered Assessors Program (IRAP), a compliance assessment of Australian Government security requirements. A similar IRAP assessment for Microsoft Dynamics CRM Online is also underway and we’ll share more on this in the future. This assessment is incredibly relevant to federal government agencies, state government, education, healthcare and commercial enterprises. Our comprehensive approach to global and local certifications ensures we are delivering a cloud that businesses and organizations can trust – certified by third parties.

With today’s datacenter availability, we are now servicing Dynamics CRM Online customers with datacenters in six regions.  This effort and global expansion reflects our ongoing commitment to deliver the best service through the most trusted and complete cloud in the world.
