Our current Field Service mobile experience is an essential component of success in our customer’s field service operations. One of the most requested updates is to bring the Microsoft Power Apps and Unified Interface experience on the desktop to the mobile experience. We are happy to deliver that capability in the initial version of our next generation field service mobile capability built on Power Apps, called “Microsoft Dynamics 365 Field Service” which can be found in the Android and Apple app stores as “Field Service (Dynamics 365)“.

The Dynamics 365 Field Service mobile app is a Unified Interface app with mobile-optimized experience that works with the latest version of Microsoft Dynamics 365 Field Service.

The new mobile app has the following capabilities:

  • Offline mode with sync status
  • View and manage bookings and work orders
  • Capture service notes that include photos, videos, and audio and capture customer signature
  • Create time off requests

It can be tailored to meet business requirements using the existing Power Apps extensibility.

This new app is recommended for organizations doing new field service mobile implementations which have basic mobile requirements.

We will continue to iterate on the app, adding features which are available in the current mobile app including:

  • Push notifications
  • Geotracking
  • Reporting
  • Client-side customized logic

We will also continue to innovate and leverage Power Apps capabilities in the app.

During the period in which the new app continues to evolve, we’ll continue to make available and support the current mobile app. Organizations which are using the current app as of June 30, 2021 can continue to use the app until June 30, 2022. We will provide ongoing guidance as the new app evolves and is recommended for broader use. We encourage you to check out the Field Service (Dynamics 365) app here.
