A lot of Microsofties working in Redmond will not be at their desks tomorrow. Instead they will be contributing time to their favorite charities. This is a huge effort that takes a lot of coordination by Microsoft, United Way, and the King county government types. Here’s a little more info:
WHO: 6,000 or more caring people.
WHAT: United Way of King County’s Day of Caring
WHERE: Day of Caring kicks off with a morning celebration at Seattle Center – Mural Amphitheatre, and volunteers then work at projects throughout King County.
WHEN: The fun starts with the kickoff breakfast from 7:30 am – 8:30 am and continues while volunteers are at projects from 9:00 am – 3:00 pm.
WHY: United Way of King County connects people who need help with people who can help. Day of Caring brings thousands of people together to make a lasting impact at nonprofits, schools and parks around our community. Last year more than 6,000 volunteers provided some $620,000 worth of labor at 300 projects throughout King County.
