Last week, we released V3R2, a slipstream release on CRM V3 which enabled seamless compatibility with Windows Small Business Server 2003 R2.

History

In July, testing identified a number of incompatibilities between CRM v3 Small Business Edition and Small Business Server 2003 R2. The CRM v3 Small Business Edition was a release targeted at our small business audience and included special features for SBS users, including a click-through install that made it a breeze for SBS customers to get up and running. This edition has been well received by small business audience and is a market that the CRM continues to invest into.

In the move to SBS R2, the SBS team replaced the original  SQL Server 2000 Standard Edition with SQL Server 2005 Workgroup Edition. Workgroup Edition confused our streamlined setup and the feature differences between the Workgroup and Standard ultimately resulted in breaking our reporting story.

The CRM team, committed to serving our small business audience, moved quickly to approve a ‘v3r2’ project that would address these issues. We are happy to announce that this project has shipped.

Release Details

As both Pro and SBE editions of CRM are differentiated only by product key, this release is considered a ‘slipstream release’ and will replace the currently available CRM v3 product soon.
