Regarding the v3c patches: When Customer Service and Support provides you with patches for the Microsoft Dynamics CRM clients for Outlook Compatibility Update (“V3c”) you’ll receive a self-extractor: <extractor #>_ENU_i386_zip.exe. Run the self-extractor, you’ll see four patches + a readme (hotfix.txt):
- 01/21/2007 04:12 AM 3,221,912 CRM3.0-KB931270-Client-ENU.exe (for servicing RTM client)
- 01/21/2007 04:13 AM 3,528,088 CRM3.0-KB931270-Server-ENU.exe (for servicing RTM server)
- 01/29/2007 05:25 PM 399,360 CRM3.0c-KB931270-DesktopClient-ENU.msp (for servicing v3c Desktop client)

- 01/30/2007 03:28 AM 2,241 hotfix.txt
The MSP install is silent. It will show a screen momentarily before finishing the install, which happens very quickly. This is by design. If you look in the Add/Remove Programs (Start >> Run >> Appwiz.cpl), you will then see that the fix is installed.
Future client packages released to Customer Service and Support will be a “one-click” install, you will not be required to select from a list of client packages. The Microsoft CRM hotfix installer will handle installing the correct patch based on the Microsoft Windows client version and Microsoft CRM client version you’re running. We released the 913270 patches via a simpler self-extractor to expedite delivery of this critical fix.
Hotfixes available via Customer Service and Support now will be publicly available from the Microsoft Download Center via upcoming CRM v3 Update Roll-up releases.
Thank you,
