Tyler cut his programming teeth on a high-school job at the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point where he learned all about the wonders of programming .NET applications. Later this knowledge would help him score an internship with the CRM group in summer 2005 near the end of the 3.0 release. After graduating from the University of Wisconsin-Madison with degrees in mathematics and linguistics in 2006, Tyler came back as a full-time developer in the reporting feature area.
