As a member of the Microsoft Dynamics Community team, I am hoping to reach out to the CRM Community for some insight and feedback into online networking. We are currently looking at features and functionality for Networking and Working Groups for the Microsoft Dynamics Live Communities (Finance available now, Sales & Marketing to be available later this calendar year). At Convergence San Diego 2007 we announced networking would be available from the Finance Forum (and subsequent communities after that) in the few months after the event, however, after researching we have learned there is a LOT of great collaboration tools and features out there.
We want to release the Networking functionality with the features which will provide the most value to you and have therefore chosen to slightly postpone the release in an effort to gather feedback from the community at large on what you would like to see included. Please share your ideas here. To help get your brain juices flowing, here are some items we are considering (but are not limited to):
- Working groups:
o Communicate, collaborate and work together with a small subset of individuals from the broader community
o Could be public or private
o Add rich text content via blogs and articles, upload files or videos or post events
o RSS feed aggregation that is visible to members
o Content tagging
o Email subscriptions on any changes to content
- Profiling:
o Create your own social networking profile
o Search for other profiles
o Interact with profiled members (via community mailbox or working groups)
We’d be interested to understand what social networking sites you may be using today and what features you like and use (or would like to use) the most from these sites.
