Script Errors After the December 2012 Service Update

Before your Microsoft CRM Online organization is updated to the December 2012 Service release we hope you have taken steps to address potential issues which could cause form scripts to break. Information about how to prepare was published last summer in the following blog posts:

After your organization is upgraded to the December 2012 Service, if you experience any of the following, you may need to take another look at your custom scripts:

  • errors at the bottom of your browser saying “Error on page
  • script error notifications saying things are ‘undefined’ or other things ‘don’t support this property or method

Even if you are not a script developer, there is one thing that you can try to make those errors go away. If you are a system administrator for your CRM Online organization, go to System Settings and on the Customization tab check the Include HTC support in Microsoft Dynamics forms checkbox. If you check this setting and the errors go away you have bought yourself some time to address the problems, but until then you will need to continue using only Microsoft Internet Explorer versions 8 or 9. Internet Explorer 10 or any other browsers will continue to generate script errors because those browsers don’t support HTML Components.

If you are a script developer, be sure to look at the contents of the two links above and contents of the CRM SDK Topic: Use JavaScript with Microsoft Dynamics CRM 2011 and Microsoft Dynamics CRM Online.

Errors while using Documents on SharePoint

If you are seeing errors when working with SharePoint documents in Microsoft CRM, be sure read the blog post Impact of Dynamics CRM December 2012 Service Update and SharePoint Online Service Update on CRM-SharePoint Integration. This post has detailed information about the types of errors that might occur as well as information about new versions of the SharePoint List component that you can install on your integrated SharePoint Site.

We hope that the upgrade to the December 2012 Service update is a smooth one!
