Hello, my name is Ravi Ashok and I work in the Remote Desktop Services team. Today I would like to share with you the Azure RemoteApp user experience. Last month, Azure RemoteApp became generally available, enabling businesses to provide their Windows applications to users through Azure making them available to iOS, Mac OS X, Android in addition to Windows, and Windows Phone.  With Azure RemoteApp, you can run Windows applications in the cloud and deliver them to your users, facilitating a secured, scalable, and smooth experience for employees. In this post I would to like to show the user experience that the Azure RemoteApp service delivers. Local-like Productivity Although the remote applications don’t run on the local machine, interacting with them after connecting with a client is very similar to working with a  an application running on your Windows desktop. The video below demonstrates what it’s like working with PowerPoint, running both locally and with Azure RemoteApp.  This can be helpful when using a set of apps that integrate with PowerPoint (where the other applications are not available on the end user’s device). Multi-platform support Working with your line of business and productivity applications using RemoteApp, whether on a mobile PC, Mac, tablet, or smartphone, is the same experience as working with a locally running Windows application. See below how Azure RemoteApp makes using business applications possible on unsupported or incompatible platforms. By connecting to corporate resources in Azure, users can be securely productive on the devices they love to use. Strong Performance Azure RemoteApp can provide a smooth user experience, even with compute-heavy applications on mobile devices. Using the Remote Desktop Protocol with RemoteFX WAN acceleration for application window delivery, desktop computing power is placed in the palm of your hand. With a smartphone, for example, Azure RemoteApp enables smooth and productive use of traditional desktop applications such as 3-D schematic viewers and project management tools. Azure RemoteApp is a simple-to-manage, scalable, method for delivering your Windows applications to a wide range of devices and platforms. It enables users to access their work applications and data from anywhere on any device, unlocking new ways and places to be productive in the enterprise world. The RemoteApp demo in the above videos was run from US West region, on the Basic billing plan.  To learn more and check out Azure RemoteApp, get started at http://remoteapp.azure.com.
