With the current branch of System Center Configuration Manager version 1602, you can manage and deploy the Office 365 client updates. For a nice overview of the integration, see the Office team's blog post New Update Options for Office 365 ProPlus using System Center Configuration Manager . You will find additional details about this feature on TechNet .

The basic functionality of managing and deploying the Office 365 updates will work with the current branch of Configuration Manager v1511. However, we recommend that you upgrade to Configuration Manager v1602 since we have made some improvements and bug fixes to handle the scenario where Office 365 applications are in use while updates are being installed.

Please read the announcement post to learn more about the 1602 Update to Configuration Manager.

We’re looking forward to hearing what you think about this feature! To obtain assistance with the feature, please post in the Configuration Manager Security, Updates and Compliance forum . To provide feedback or report any issues with the functionality, please use Connect .  If there’s a new feature or enhancement you want us to consider including in future updates, please use the Configuration Manager UserVoice site .
