The Opportunity for Start-Ups on Azure

Azure Startup Blog

Azure is built for builders. By incorporating languages, frameworks, and tools that are already part of your workflow, there are no uncomfortable growing pains. You can get to work right away.

The spirit of a startup is scrappy and passionate. The BizSpark program aims to power your incredible ideas using Azure. If your startup is less than 5 years old, privately held, and earns less than $1 million annually, you qualify for the program. Eligible startups can access $190 a month in Azure credits for up to 5 developers. The program aims to connect startups with potential investors and collaborators and to stimulate local software communities, promoting innovation and inter-operability.

Most importantly, the openness and flexibility of the Azure platform allows you to use the open source tools you’re familiar with like Python and MongoDB. Collaborating on the cloud accelerates app development and allows teams to deliver apps faster than ever before.

Our goal is for Azure credits to empower you to scale and create to make what seems like the impossible, possible. If you want to learn more about how the cloud has helped startups in the past, check out this video with Vancouver’s Roomsy who leveraged Azure to make changes to their infrastructure and code to deliver immediate support to their clients.
