Know before you go: Your Smart City Expo preview

Our CityNext team is packing our bags and excited to participate in Smart City Expo World Congress (SCEWC) Nov 14-16 in Barcelona, Spain.

We look forward to meeting you there to show you how your city can become more sustainable, prosperous, and inclusive with robust, innovative smart city solutions from Microsoft and our deep bench of partners. Whether you’re looking to improve urban mobility, citizen services, public safety, access to high-quality health and education, or other priority areas for your community, you’ll be able to experience how the transformative power of digital technology and the cloud can help.

In addition to the CityNext solutions that we and dozens of our partners will be demonstrating in our booth, we’ll be participating in panel sessions that will explore how cities can transform to tackle their toughest challenges and shape their future.

The congress portion of SCEWC will bring together more than 400 speakers (global influencers and innovators) to share knowledge, debate the challenges faced by our cities, encourage out-of-the-box thinking, and inspire a worldwide call for action to develop smarter and more sustainable cities according to the SCEWC website. We’re thrilled to be part of these crucial conversations.

At 11:30 a.m., Nov 14, Tim Turitto, Industry General Manager, Government, Microsoft, will bring his insight to the panel topic: Collective efforts to tackle global urban challenges.

At 2:15 p.m., Nov 15, Bruce E. Johnson, Director, Applied Innovation, Microsoft Services, will share best practices on the panel topic: Improving performance with retrofitting and intelligent building systems.

And at 3:30 p.m., Nov 15, Trudy Norris-Grey, Managing Director, CityNext, will share examples and considerations for the panel topic: IoT and data enabling the next generation of urban services.

While you’re at SCEWC, you can also meet one-on-one with subject matter experts from our CityNext team and partners who can help you take your next steps in addressing your communities’ top priorities. And when you come see us in our booth, you’ll get to be immersed in real-world scenarios that will bring the vision of a connected city to life. For example, we’ll have a digital patrol car and a connected consumer car on display, showing how your community can benefit when connected cars meet connected city infrastructure. You’ll see how people can have better experiences and public works, first responder, public transportation, health, education and commercial organizations can work smarter, and be more agile and effective.

You can just show up at our booth C301 in Gran Via Hall 3 or schedule a guided tour ahead of time.
