Microsoft Worldwide Partner Conference 2012: SQL Server Partner of the Year Awards

Every year at Microsoft Worldwide Partner Conference, Microsoft announces its Partner of the Year Awards. These awards represent the best the Microsoft’s partners have to offer across several Microsoft product categories, geographies and business units. We receive over 3,000 partner entries on an annual basis.

As part of our preparation for WPC this year, the SQL Server team is excited to announce the finalists and winners for our two awards: the Data Platform and Business Intelligence Partners of the Year!

Systemgroup Consulting Inc. – Systemgroup Consulting Inc. is a management consulting and business software development company based in Canada. Through consultation with the management of a customer in the health care industry, Systemgroup identified how to properly implement and configure SQL Server 2012 to improve  the customer’s business, public image, and most importantly, to help them save more lives. With features such as PowerPivot for reporting, SSRS for notifications, and SSIS for external data source integration, Systemgroup was able to provide a mission critical solution to their customer.  This customer now has a real-time tool that enables them to make business decisions based on accurate information rather than unreliable, audible data they used to use.

2012 Business Intelligence Partner of the Year

Fusionex for their Thailand conglomerate BI project.  Fusionex is a systems integrator based in Singapore, serving Microsoft-based projects throughout southeast Asia.  The implementation was a broad-based BI solution that delivered end user BI tools and data warehouse capabilities to a large company (a Thailand-based conglomerate) that had multiple data sources, from SAP line of business systems, to other data warehouses running on IBM, to apps running on top of Oracle.  Despite the large competitive platform footprint of SAP, Oracle and IBM, Fusionex was able to win with Microsoft.   The solution utilized important features of SQL Server 2012, including Power View for end user data visualizations and analytics, ColumnStore Index for data warehouse scalability and MDS/DQS for data lineage and cleansing.

Congratulations to our finalists and to our winners, and thank you to all of our partners everywhere around the world. We look forward to meeting you at WPC!
