As Bostonians cast their eyes toward New York and the 4-game series against the Yankees, I’ll once again cast my eyes toward TechEd in Boston. This time around it’s the three virtualization breakout sessions within the Windows Server Infrastructure track.
Virtual Server 2005 R2 service pack 1 has been available for about a month now. The sexy item here is the support for virtualized hardware-assist technology from AMD and Intel; this simplifies the virtual machine monitor, the lowest layer of Virtual Server. We’ll have two betas of Virtual Server 2005 R2 SP1. Beta 1, available today, supports Intel VT and other features. Beta 2, which will be available in Q4, supports the features of Beta 1, as well as AMD Virtualization and other new features. To learn more see Monday’s session at 9am.
