Some of you may have seen blog postings reporting on the release of a December 2006 CTP of Windows Server “Longhorn”. Well, I can confirm that the rumors are true – we did release a new CTP to our Technical Beta Program participants in the last couple of days. And just in time for Christmas!!
If you’re an MSDN or TechNet subscriber, you’re probably wondering “Why isn’t it up on our download site?” Well, you probably heard about the inclement weather we had up here in the Pacific Northwest over the last week, which damaged power lines throughout the region and left lots of people (and the Microsoft campus) without power for a few days. The truth is that we wanted to get the CTP up on MSDN at the same time as Connect, but there were still some internal systems down, so we weren’t able to get them done together. However, we will get this new CTP to our MSDN and TechNet subscribers as soon as we can – I would guess about a week, so hang in there!
So take some time off for the holidays (I’m on vacation myself in Ireland this week) and relax with family and friends – your CTP should be waiting for you when you get back!
Happy Holidays from the Windows Server team!
David.
