Howdy folks,
Today the OpenID Foundation launched a
certification program for OpenID Connect implementations
and I'm pleased that Azure Active Directory and ADFS for Windows 10 have both been
certified
as OpenID Connect identity providers. I'd like to also congratulate Google, Ping Identity, ForgeRock, PayPal, and Nomura Research Institute for being part of the certification launch.
Having an OpenID Connect certification program is a big deal because it provides confidence that certified implementations will "just work" together. Today's news is another important step on the road to widely-available secure interoperable digital identity for all the devices and applications that people use.
Microsoft is proud to be a key contributor to the development of OpenID Connect and now of its certification program. I love seeing all the cool identity-enabled applications that this makes it easy for developers to build!
