Getting ready for General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR)

The countdown to the European Union General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) is coming to a close. This means any enterprise that controls, maintains, or processes data involving EU citizens will be subject to new rules and regulations regarding security and compliance. With the failure to meet these new requirements resulting in a fine of up to $24 million, businesses should be taking GDPR very seriously.

As GDPR comes into effect, all businesses will need to re-evaluate their data storage and sharing strategies. With cloud computing becoming an ideal choice for businesses across every industry, companies need to make sure they have the digital infrastructure in place to stay compliant with GDPR standards.

To empower our customers with the tools and capabilities they need, Microsoft wants to share with you how we approach GDPR and build each of our products with compliance in mind.
